An Elwood Blessing

Today Becky and Aaron welcomed in their 5th little bundle of joy! Becky was having high blood pressure so they decided to induce her about 7 this morning. After about 6-7 hours of labor the nurse realized the doc didn't even break the water. So after they broke it he came out just an hour and a half later, Becky said about 4:30. We were worried all day because he was about 6 weeks early. Would you guys like to know his name?

Taylon Stephens Elwood. The newest Krazy Elwood! Right now he is in the NICU. We got to the hospital about 6:30 and unfortunately Dad and Nancy weren't able to go in because the nursery closes for the switchover of nurses and doctors till 8. Grandma Wendy was the first to go in. Aaron could only bring 1 of us in at a time due to the critical state of all the little babies in there. After Wendy was done I got to go in with Aaron next. We had to wash our hands really well, even tho we weren't going to hold him.

After a good hand washing I followed Aaron back to see little Taylon. The nurse was trying to get fluid out of his lungs from a small tube. He was just so small and innocent! He's been having trouble breathing and his little chest was moving up and down pretty quickly. For about 5 minutes or so the nurse went over visitation policies with Aaron and I. Every time I would take a picture he jumped a little like it scared him.

The hospital is saying they will probably have to keep him for 2-3 weeks. Since he was so early he should probably be monitored for his breathing.

It was kind of sad to see him with all those tubes and gadgets around him but after looking at him for a few minutes all you could see is a cute little boy just resting and getting ready for the life ahead of him.

What cute little feet! After a few pictures I figured he was probably startled enough from the camera noise so I put my hand on the 'baby cage' and said goodbye until next time to my precious little nephew. I went back to the room where Aaron's parents and sister were waiting. The kids and Becky were excited to see the pictures! Since it is the season to be sick the kids couldn't go back to see him so the pictures were all they got to see of their new baby brother.

Here are the happy sisters! Abbie was so cute! She is a little confused. When Becky told her that the baby wasn't in her belly anymore she asked "how did it get out?" Dayton is confused why mommy has a tube sticking in her hand. He wouldn't go to her so I think he was a little scared of the needle. He eventually warmed up.

Becky is doing well! They have given her some pain medicine and her blood pressure is still a little high but going down. She thinks she will be released on Sunday morning. For the respect of Becky I wont post the pics Jonathan took. She was eating at the time and putting food in her mouth.

And here is father of the year! He had a long day for sure attending to Becky and probably answering a million phone calls from everyone. He had the job of taking people back to see him.

What a blessing to have him here with us! He's a little early but we are happy to have him here. It's amazing to think earlier today he was up in heaven still getting ready for his journey here on earth. Welcome Taylon! We just met you but love you so much already!

Ok Ok Ok... So while we are blogging we have to brag about our new car. Today while Becky was in labor we went down to Lindon and got it. It's a Smart Car Passion. This is a picture of it sitting behind my car in the driveway. Gives you and idea of how small it is.

Yeah... We rock!

I cannot believe you got a smartcar. Just don't into an accident because you will die like the rest of the people who have gotten in an accident with those things. Cute though.
