If you guys think we're crazy...

You can blame Jonathan. Lol!

Well last Thursday night Jonathan wanted to run to Petco and look at baby ferrets. He said he felt inspired and that he would find a ferret he would want. I told him 'no way' and told him we could go look anyway. He found a little girl he loved. I went to hold her and the first thing she did was bite my finger REALLY hard and wouldn't let go. "No way she is way too mean!" Jonathan gave me the puppy dog eyes. I told him "No! We can't get a new ferret. I'm not ready!" We left and went about our night.

The next morning I woke up to a ferret in my face. I opened my eyes and the colors looked like Hankey, but when they focused I realized 'thats not my ferret'. I was on the verdge of being pissed and upset. The feelings caught up with me and I started to cry. I was so mad he went against my wishes and got a new ferret. After a minute or two he said 'you really aren't going to be happy then.' I thought oh no did he get more material to build a bigger cage? I went upstairs and there was ANOTHER ferret!! I had really lost it now. Apparently Jonathan and his mom went to the store and Wendy decided she wanted a ferret too so they bought two. I ran to the couch not trying to panic. After a few minutes of Jonathan seeing me upset he said "well take them back". I was think 'dang right you will'. After a few minutes of playing the little boy Wendy got started to throw up. Poor little guy! After that he fell asleep on Jonathan.

Throwing up for ferrets is bad! We needed to get him to a vet. We called Petco and they wanted to take him back and observe him. We knew that he needed medical attention. We called our vet and they agreed so we decided to take the girl back to the store and take the boy to the vet.

On the way down to the vet he was sleeping in a blanket and cuddling with me. 'Oh no I'm getting attatched' I thought. After we got to the vet he started to become playful and we got to see what a cute personality he had. After the exam the vet said he was in good health and that we just needed to keep a good eye on him and bring him back. In conclusion he just had an upset tummy. I told Jonathan we could keep him.

Mr. Hankey is having a hard time getting along with him only because he is trying to show his dominance. Other than that Miss Priss and Tweak are playing 'mother' and being nice to him. Including grooming him and just being sweet!

We miss Scooter so much and know he can't be replaced, but having our new one is helping us be happy and filling our hearts will more love.

We debated names for a few days. Wendy was calling him "Little Hankey" but we wanted him to have his own name. We considered things like Roley Poley because he has a sticky outty belly. We thought of Fievel. Jonathan mentioned that Fievel has a nick name in the movie so after watching it we decided on Filly. His name is Fievel but Filly for short.

Here are some pics of him.

So yeah we might be crazy for loving ferrets so much but I tell you what they are the most lovable things ever!

February 2009

Here is a sad attempt to put a little something happier on our blog. Things weren't so easy last month. Two friends passing away and our little Scooter making it to heaven were hard. But there were some happier moments in February.

I guess the first big event is tubing at Soldier Hallow. Jonathan wasn't able to make it. He was studying at the library with Teri Lyn. I hope you guys had fun studying but we had way more fun at Soldier Hallow! It was actually pretty hot up there. If you look at some of the pictures you can see some of us aren't wearing coats! Here is a photo recap of the day plus a funny video of us cruising down the hill!

Another fun event was bowling with my cousins! Rajiv and Layla were in town at the same time so we went bowling and for ice cream. I also put on a wonderful fashion show for them at Grandpa Hanks house! Most of these pics are of Addie (sorry she is just way too cute!).

Behind my work is a huge field with tons of sheep. They are reproducing! They are so cute too!

I got to tour the Draper Temple with the Young Men and Young Women of the ward. It was so much fun! Those girls are crazy cute and fun! The temple was way different than what I was expecting. I thought everything would be white and shiny but really it was just beautifully decorated and comfortable building. At the end is a pic of my in my grandpa's hat. He has an interesting style.

I know this part may be a little sad but here are some pictures of Scooter in his final days with us. There is a video too of him drinking a bowl of water. I miss him more than words can express!

Overall February was a pretty crappy month. Lol! But at least there was a few things in their that made it a little better!
